Horsham District Indoor Bowls Club

Playing bowls is an enjoyable leisure activity and is played by all age groups.  It ranges from the highly competitive with county and national competitions to the social level of playing.

However, the Club is also used by community groups such as blind bowlers, Alzheimer’s Society, and a number of other community groups.  The Club’s facilities are also used for social activities which are organised by members of the Club or through external request.

The Club’s restaurant is frequently used  by members of the adjacent Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre.

We also work, with Horsham District Council support,  with local schools culminating in the Horsham Junior Schools Festival run at the Club for the Council

Similarly we are hosts to a number of other organisations such as Scouts, Guides and Young Farmers.

The Club in the Wider Community

The Sussex Junior Bowls Academy Finals are held at the Club as well as the National English Bowls Youth Development Scheme South of England Region finals.

There are few sports which can provide the older person with some form of exercise with a competitive edge, and where they can compete on level terms with younger players.  This provides benefits for both age ranges.

The Club is actively engaged  with the English Indoor Bowls Association, the Bowls Development Alliance, and other organisations, including Horsham District Council’s Sports development team to encourage wider use of our excellent facilities.
